Strengths in Working Life Breakfast Event
Wednesday, 21 October at 8:30 AM
Diversity in the workplace is not a problem to be solved. It is a strength, provided that we learn to recognize and leverage it.
Why does one person embrace change immediately while another wants all the facts before taking action? Why does collaboration flow effortlessly with some colleagues but feel challenging with others? Workplace diversity starts working in our favour when we better understand our own ways of thinking, acting, and influencing others, while also learning to recognize different approaches in those around us.
In this practical breakfast event, we will make the invisible dynamics of the workplace visible. Together, we will explore our own work personalities, strengths, and ways of working, while gaining a deeper understanding of how others think, act, and communicate. Expect new insights, practical tools for everyday working life, and perhaps a few eye-opening moments that help explain why you do what you do. The session will be led by Henna Merensola and Mikael Hyykoski.
The Strengths in Working Life workshop provides practical tools for everyday work. You will learn how to:
- Understand yourself better: Identify your natural strengths and motivators, and discover what helps you perform at your best.
- Recognize your blind spots: Learn to identify the “shadow side” of your strengths. How do you respond under pressure when a strength becomes a stumbling block?
- Develop self-leadership: Learn how to direct your energy effectively and protect your cognitive capacity.
- Strengthen interaction and collaboration: Gain a better understanding of your colleagues’ different working styles. Natural differences become strengths rather than sources of misunderstanding, helping individual efforts turn into seamless teamwork.
The event will be held in the Kiila Event Space on Wednesday, 21 October, from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Participation is free of charge, and breakfast will be served.
